OUR SERVICES

ENHANCING THE ORGANIZATIONAL MINDSET

  • We converse with you and your employees (through confidential interviews) to uncover the current paradigm and reality in which people work in your organization.
  • Through a series of dialogues, we work with you and your team to build a new future for your organization—one that is not hamstrung by the past or by “business as usual”, or by “what everybody knows”.
  • We then work with you to implement the new future into the current organization.

BUILDING HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAMS

  • Our approach in this area is on frank, respectful, “eyeball to eyeball” honest, communication.
  • We believe that a lot of mischief gets done (while big results suffer) because people aren’t straightforward with each other. Some people are worried about what their boss and their peers think. They worry how they will look if they are wrong. Other individuals blast forward with their own ideas, trying to trample opposing views in their path and trying to control things to go “their way”. Sometimes people are sarcastic in their comments or in their body language, rolling their eyes rather than saying anything direct.
  • We help you and your team learn the dynamics of human behavior in organizations so that the “quiet types” speak up, so that the “bulls in the china shop” settle down a bit and so that frank communication replaces the more masked type.
  • One of the biggest impediments to productivity is when issues are “tiptoed” around and not put directly on the table. Our work with you and your team gets those issues out in the open so that they can be addressed rather than avoided.

ESTABLISHING ACCOUNTABILITY AS A NORM

  • How many times has someone given you an excuse for why a project didn’t get done on time? And how many times do people get defensive when pressed about their lack of performance?
  • In most organizations, meeting commitments is often mired in narratives designed to rationalize a lack of performance rather than in the simple black and white reality of whether something got done or did not get done.
  • We have an approach that educates your people in a method of making and keeping commitments—we call this method the Language of Action©.
  • With this straightforward way of stating commitments and keeping commitments in front of people (rather than in someone’s desk drawer), accountability becomes very easy to manage. Psychological upsets are replaced by straight talk—“I did it” or “I didn’t do it, and more importantly, this is what I am going to do about it.”
  • A culture of accountability in your organization doesn’t mean that everything will get done every time, but it does mean that many more things do get done, and a lack of performance does not get swept under the rug.

MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS

  • Our engagements with your firm will help you design the successful management of projects from inception to completion. Your management team will learn how to better quote and manage projects so that they are consistently delivered on time and within budget.
  • Project management tools attempt to develop, refine, manipulate, change, or modify the representation of organizational commitments, but how many times have you seen the timeline of important projects slip, and slip, and slip? In other words, while the project management system tracks, records, and reports the making and keeping of commitments, it often fails in being able to effectively manage the change in the commitments that is necessary to keep the over-riding promise in place and alive.
  • This function, obviously, can only be done by individuals.
  • We combine expertise in project management with expertise in “people skills” so that PEOPLE, who are the single most important ingredient in whether a job gets done or not, can produce the wanted and needed results.
  • Our Language of Action© helps you create an organizational environment where accountability and the keeping of commitments is standard operating practice.
